I really love this time of year. I love looking at the shelves filled up with this season' s tea harvest, love looking at the heavy apple branches, love the sweet scent of rotting mirabelles on the ground attracting the butterflies, love the promise of the approaching darkness to make more space for picking up the knitting again, cuddling with the kittens, learnign new things and gradually slowing down. Right now though the hands are really full planting and harvesting at the same time. Both out in our green gardens, but also here in the livelihood garden. So many things are coming into fruition now. For many years I have harboured the dream (and tending the seeds) of making a community house that is focused on exploring our relations with the land and each other, to gather around plant wisdoms, to learn how to rest well together, to connect with our voices and bodies and more. A kind of feminist healing house, co-created in a partnership that feels strong, nourishing, reciprocal. In the most miraculous way this dream is now coming to reality with leaps so fast that sometimes I need to pinch myself - is this real? But it is and I am so eager to tell you all about it, yet will keep it hushed for just a bit more and write about it in my next letter. Some things are still sprouting that need their time. And even aside from the actual community house in the making there is a lot of community work coming up. I feel so excited to be able to offer several spaces this winter that feel like a big heartfelt YES. And I hope you will join me in some of them. There will be the workshop for young artists and musicians in Aarhus to explore what it means to show up as yourself in your art. There will be the second round of wintering journey, this time online to bring it to you, who are further away, but still keeping it slow, sensuous and deliciously embodied. There will be a five day course in Work that Reconnects in one of my favourite places in this corner of the Earth. And more, but about that some other time. This work makes me feel so abundant. What is it about it that makes it so, I was wondering. And then yesterday, going through the feedback from last year's wintering circle, I paused at this reflection from someone “The biggest gift was the deep awareness that all flowering is mutual and that for something to spring out, one needs to winter." “THIS!” I thought, this is exactly where this sense of abundance comes from for me too. This is more than soul work, this is an opportunity to bring in the very embodied field the awareness that we need each other as the bee needs the flower and the flower needs the bee. We need each other as apple needs the ground, and the ground needs apple, we need each other as the spring needs winter and winter needs spring. Because all flowering is indeed mutual.
