ROOTED is an interdisciplinary festival and an emerging cultural platform that connects plants, people, and art. It is an invitation to collectively explore the power of the arts in times of ecological crisis and to reconnect with plants as medicine, wisdom-keepers, and allies in shaping more livable futures for all.

The first edition of ROOTED festival will take place on June 14, 2025, at Institut for (X) in Aarhus, and will bring together artists and plant practitioners from Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, France, and Latvia, offering an engaging and inspiring program of participatory performances, sensory walks, film screenings, workshops, and concerts.

With the help of these formats the festival creates space for exploring and deepening the relationships between plants and people through interdisciplinary artistic practices.

ROOTED is both a response and an offering. A response to the urgency I have felt from plants themselves - to bring plants and people together this way, to engage with the world in a way that is sensorial, collective, and transformative. An offering to gather, listen, and co-create what wants to be created . An offering to the city I live in to experience the richness of art and processes that already exists in co-creation with plants. This is just the beginning, a seed. May it grow and flourish in its own unique way. I hope you will join us.
